Similar to what I’ve done in previous weeks, I’m elaborating on my tweets for the week of May 4, 2008 through May 10, 2008. I have to say, Twitter has enabled my obsessive need to keep track of even the most inane detail of my life. It’s super-fun and useful for me, but probably less fun for anyone who reads this. Haha.

I’m using the laptop I bought for my grampa. I have a feeling that, when the time comes, it will be difficult for me to part with it. :-/
Because I am a dutiful first-born, I have already begun to buy things for the relatives back home in the Philippines. The first and most major purchase is a laptop (which I’m still using right now) for my grampa and his girlfriend; I don’t even want to think about how sad I will be to give it up. Hopefully, I’ll have enough money saved up to get a new one for me after my trip.
Still on the list:
- Girly lotions and hair products (for my grampa, because he’s vain like that).
- My grampa’s vitamins and health supplements.
- A BlackBerry Pearl for the boyfriend.
- Other laptop stuff - a webcam, spare flash drives, etc.
- Books for my (sort of) brother-in-law. He’s hard to shop for.
- Toblerone bars, which I hate, but it’s one of the first things that Filipinos will expect from the relatives they pick up at the airport. What is that about, really? I used to get bricks of that stuff every time somebody came home from overseas and I never liked it. Why ruin perfectly good chocolate with nasty nougat?

Friday Five for May 9, 2008
1. If you knew that you had only one day left to live, what would you do for the 24 hours?
2. Do you think that life has meaning?
3. What was your favourite childhood toy/object, or some of your favourites?
(Remember childhood according to the United Nations is anywhere from 0-18 years, so this is a fairly broad span of time).
4. When you clasp your hands, do you put your right thumb over your left thumb, or your left thumb over your right thumb?
5. If you had to teach the most ignorant person on earth the most difficult thing you have ever learned, how would you go about doing it?

As I have said before, there are certain people - let’s call him Leech, shall we? - who don’t deserve their ginormous salary, seeing as how their performance consists mostly of delegating all most tasks and making deeply unfunny jokes to try to get out of any tight situations brought about by their inefficiency. Given the educational budget cuts the state has had to impose, now would have been the perfect time to make a clean break from that certain person and all other such usurpers.

Leech, enemy of He-Man and a prime example of a usurper
Other usurpers include professional houseguest Kato Kaelin and, well, actual leeches

4. What is a trait in another person that instantly repels you, and prevents you from forming a close relationship with them?
5. Time to vent: tell us about something rotten someone has done to you.
